Here are some easy recipes for some fantastic home-made fun!
Puffy Paint
Puffy paint is so fun to use and very easy to make at home! The children at nursery love mark making with puffy paint, and exploring how the media changes with the ingredients are combined.
What you will need:
- Glue;
- Shaving foam;
- Food colouring;
- Mixing bowl and spoon;
- Ziplock bag/squirty bottle.
Method:
- Mix equal amounts of glue and shaving foam into a bowl;
- Add a few drops of food colouring into the mixture until you have your desired colour;
- Put mixture into a ziplock bag and cut off a corner so you can squeeze the paint out onto the paper;
- Use a spoon or a lollipop stick to paint with!
Play dough
This easy-to-make, home-made play dough can give you hours of endless fun and learning and is a firm nursery favourite!
What you will need:
- 2 cups of flour;
- 1 tablespoon of cooking oil;
- Food colouring;
- 1 cup of water;
- A sprinkle of glitter;
- Scented handwash/soap.
Method:
- Pour the flour and glitter into a mixing bowl;
- Mix in a few drops of food colouring;
- Add cooking oil and a few drops of scented handwash/soap into the flour mixture;
- Slowly mix the coloured water bit by bit into the flour and oil until you have a dough texture;
- Sprinkle the mixture on a flat surface and knead the dough until it is no longer sticky.
- Create and enjoy!
