Happy National Story Telling Day!
The Reception children at The Abbey have been reading "Giraffes Can't Dance", an important story for teaching children about accepting that everyone is different, embracing their own differences, and building confidence and self-esteem. It's always a firm favourite!
Leading on from the story, the children used their arms and hands to make their very own giraffe and used their fingertips to create the spots. The children and staff spoke about the differences they could see in each giraffe they made, such as some being smaller than others, and some having more spots.
