Today the children at The Abbey participated in a practise fire drill. We complete these on a regular basis, and as part of our new staff training induction.
By doing this on a regular basis, it helps the children become familiar with the noise (as it is very loud!), as well as the procedure. The children were so good at staying calm and promptly exiting the building via their designated pathways to our meeting point.
For good practise, we also put a hazard in place to see how staff and children reacted! Everybody dealt with it so well and we were so proud of each and every one of them. We made sure all the children were awarded a little certificate to show their family.
